Alastair was the Head of Design and Architecture for risk systems at the Royal Bank of Scotland before joining Neo4j, and before that the Head of Enterprise Data Distribution Infrastructure at Barclays Investment Bank, responsible for architecture and product management of an internal product for data integration. He has a long background in software vendor companies, including two startups, specialising in the development and architecture of products for transaction processing and data management, particularly in distributed systems. He is an industry standard author and participant, and has a current interest in evolving data query languages to cover non-relational data models.
